Bullying should be stopped

Bullying is something that happens everyday. It doesn't mean anything to the kids bullying but they don't know how much it hurts the other person. This is the topic I chose for my argumentative essay, and I'm glad that I chose this topic because last weekend a thirteen year old named Rachel in Kasson, Minnesota committed suicide. She did it because she got bullied in school and the bullying got so bad that she couldn't stand it anymore. She wouldn't tell anyone about it, she acted like everything was fine and she told her family that she was dealing with it. Her family said that she wasn't showing any signs of depression but she still committed suicide. It hurts the kids even if they don't show it, the bullies don't know how they're affecting the kids they bully. If the kids that were bullying Rachel knew that she would commit suicide I don't think that they would have done all that bullying. One of the main reasons that Rachel got bullied was because her mother was homosexual, she became that way after her and her husband divorced, that's one of the reasons that they bullied her and they also bullied her just to torment her she said it got so bad that her and a friend had to go eat their lunch in one of the locker rooms. Bullying not only affects the person getting bullied but it also hurts their families like in Rachel's case where her family has to live without her now. Bullying should be stopped and I think school's and communities need to work together to stop it.

This is Rachel, she is a beautiful young girl and she shouldn't have done that to herself and her family.I pray for her and her family.

College

There are so many reasons why I came to college. I never got the chance to go to college after high school because I was so busy taking care of my children. I didn't really worry about going to college during these twelve years I haven't been in school because I was always too busy. I worked and always had a good job
but I felt as if I needed to go back to college. Without a college degree you can't get a good job that you actually enjoy doing these days. I would love to get a job that I love going to everyday, most likely that job would be in the medical area and I really hope after I get my degree I can find a job easily. My kids are now all in school and I thought to myself, why not go back to school now that I'm not so busy. Coming back to school was very important to me and I hope I set a good example for my children too, so they know that going to college is very important.

My mother

Everyone has someone that inspires them. Whether it's family, a friend, or even a celebrity. The person that inspires me the most is my mother. My mother was such a wonderful person, she would always be smiling even when something goes wrong. I never understood why she would be smiling even during rough times. She always donated to charities and we always seemed to have guests over at our house whether it was family or even neighbors. Our house was always loud filled with people, my mother would invite people over to eat lunch or dinner with us pretty much every night. I miss her so much right now because I haven't seen her in about 18 years and it will be 19 years this May, 26, 2012. I remember her everyday when I take care of my kids, the love my mother gave us when I was a little girl. My mother used to work complicated hours, sometimes she worked in the morning and sometimes at night. Me and my sisters sometimes didn't see her but she was always there when we needed her. She never used to come home empty-handed, she always brought candy, clothes, or even toys everyday. My mother taught us to always love and help each other no matter what happens in life. I call her everyday, and she will always be in my heart and I hope one day she will see my own kids and how I raised them. My mother was an amazing woman and mother, she will always inspire me.

The Glass Castle Review

The Glass Castle was a very interesting book. The Walls family went through a lot of hardships in their life. The parents could have lived a normal life and let their kids grow up going to school with lunch, nice clothes but they chose not to. They hated the government. The children grew up and matured faster than children should. Like when Jeannette was only three years old and she was cooking herself her own hot dogs and she got burnt. The day she got out of the hospital for her burns, she was cooking her own hot dogs once again and instead of her mom stopping her she encouraged her.
Their mother was never really there for her children neither was their father. Even when he asked the children if he ever let them down they always said yes when he wasn't listening. The kids grew up taking care of themselves and soon enough they figured out that if they wanted to leave West Virginia, they were going to have to do it themselves. When Jeannette was leaving it was sad that her mom was crying because Jeannette was going to get away while she was stuck in West Virginia and not because she was going to miss her daughter. Their life was miserable. I can't imagine having my family live like that. After all that though I'm surprised that the children turned out so normal with normal jobs like being an author or a police officer.

Functional and Dysfunctional families

I think families can be functional and dysfunctional. I don't think that there's any family that gets along all the time. I am a mother of six and I came from a family of nine kids and I know how families work. Last weekend I took my children to Chuck. E. Cheese's and they haven't have been there for about a month. I was very tired since I just came out of work but I took them. Kids are always full of energy and they were really excited when we went there. They were fighting over the tokens, but watching them playing and having fun just made my day.    So when they were playing they were still fighting but they were having fun at the same time they were playing. Dysfunctional families usually don't have rules, and they don't usually spend time together. That's not always how it goes though sometimes they just don't get along they get mad easily or for no reason. They don't care about each other all the time. They aren't there for each other at the times that they need each other. Even functional families can be dysfunctional sometimes but you just need to know what to do and how to work things out.

Facebook

There's a lot of social networks out there, and facebook is one of the biggest. I think facebook is very interesting. It seems like everyone has one. If you make a new friend at work or somewhere, they are sure to ask you if you have a facebook page. The technology these days is so nice, it seems like anywhere you are you can go on facebook...whether it's on your phone, or your ipod. It's also nice because you can keep in touch with friends you haven't seen in so long, and family that you don't live by. Technology is very interesting these days for young people, I 'm so suprised at how my younger sister uses it everyday. I don't understand where they get the time to go on facebook for about two hours. It suprises me how they learn to communicate with each other whether they are on the computer or their phone.

My grandmother was the greatest grandmother anyone could ask for. She was always very joyful and funny. All her grand kids used to come over every Friday because we loved getting together and spending time with our grandmother. She always had candy and sweets for us. My mom and aunts used to cook food and we'd all sit down and eat together. My grandmother used to love cats so we always had a lot of cats running around the house, even if they were stray. When we fight or break stuff around my grandmothers house, my parents or my aunts and uncles used to yell at us and my grandmother would say this is my house, leave my grand kids alone. My grandmother was a strong and great woman who loved her children and grand children and even if everyone was busy she used to make sure they all came to her house every Friday. She used to spoil us and we couldn't wait to go to her house every Friday. That's the best things I will always remember about my grandmother. It's almost been twenty years since her death and I miss her.
